Adrienne Arsenault Biography

Adrienne Arsenault is a Canadian journalist working for CBC News as a senior correspondent and co-host of The National since November 2017. Before joining CBC, Arsenault worked for CHRW radio as a broadcaster.

Arsenault joined the CBC in 1991 as a night assignment editor and editorial assistant for CBC Toronto. She has worked for the CBC in a variety of capacities. She worked as a foreign journalist in Jerusalem for three years. Adrienne took over as main London reporter from Don Murray in 2006.

She was one of a limited number of Western journalists who were permitted into Zimbabwe in 2008 to cover the country’s election. She now works as the senior correspondent and co-host of The National since November 2017.

Arsenault was voted journalist of the year by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association in 2005. Arsenault was nominated for five Gemini Awards in 2008 for her work on The National, including a program called Healing Hikkaduwa, for which she won two Gemini Awards in the categories of Best Reportage and Best News Magazine Segment.

The American Society of Professional Journalists, the Radio and Television News Directors Association, and the New York and Columbus Festivals have all recognized her work.
