Sofia Ojeda is an American journalist working as the weekend morning anchor and reporter for Houston’s KPRC Channel 2. Since 2015, She has worked as a Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter for the station.
After graduating from college, Sofia began working as a News Desk Assistant at WABC News in New York City. She went on to work as a freelance reporter for News 12 The Bronx. Later that summer, she moved to Binghamton, New York, to work as a news reporter and nightly anchor for WIVT/WBGH NewsChannel 34.
Ojeda later worked as a news reporter and morning anchor at WETM in Elmira, New York. Ojeda went on to anchor the 7 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. nightly newscasts.
In 2018, she received an Emmy for her coverage of Hurricane Harvey. Her piece, “Hurricane Harvey’s Unsung Heroes,” documented the incredible deeds of Houston individuals who participated in the rescue of those stranded by rising floodwaters.
