Early Life
During his formative years, Sean Spicer attended Portsmouth Abbey School, a Catholic boarding school in Rhode Island, from 1985 to 1989. It was during this time that his passion for politics began to take shape. Even in high school, he eagerly volunteered for local political campaigns in Rhode Island, showcasing his early dedication to public service. This commitment continued to thrive throughout his college years.
From 1989 to 1993, Spicer pursued his higher education at Connecticut College, where he focused on government studies. He dedicated himself to his academic pursuits while also actively engaging in student affairs. As a testament to his leadership skills, Spicer served as a student senator, actively participating in campus governance and representing the interests of his fellow students.
However, college life wasn’t without its challenges for Spicer. In April 1993, a student publication, The College Voice, referred to him as “Sean Sphincter” in an article. The incident garnered attention and even became fodder for the campus satirical publication, Blats, which playfully ribbed Spicer in response.
