Rachel Khoo Career Wikipedia

Khoo worked in public relations for the shirtmaker Thomas Pink for two years after graduating from university. She resigned her work and enrolled in a three-month pastry school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris in 2006, looking for “adventure” in her life and knowing no French.

She worked part-time as an au pair in Paris and sold perfume at Printemps, a high-end department store. She worked at La Cocotte, a Parisian cookbook store and café, after graduating from Le Cordon Bleu, where she ran baking lessons and served as the pastry chef.

Khoo signed her first publication deal with Marabout in 2010 for two French-language cuisine books: Barres à céreales, muesli et granola Maison and Pâtes à tartiner. Rachel Khoo’s Muesli and Granola and Rachel Khoo’s Sweet and Savory Pâtés were eventually translated into English. During this time, she also worked as a freelancer for Volkswagen in Germany, where she organized food-related events.

Khoo built a tiny restaurant to test recipes for her first English-language cookbook, The Little Paris Kitchen, after successfully presenting her concept for a new cookbook to UK publishers. She cooked and served cuisine from her Belleville apartment in Paris, which could only fit two people at a time.
