What Exactly is Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a forthcoming American TV miniseries made for the web-based feature Disney+, highlighting the Star Wars character of a similar name. Set a decade after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith 2005, the series is created by Joby Harold and coordinated by Deborah Chow.

The TV series is set to be released on the 25th of May 2022 exactly forty-five years since the first time the titular character appeared on our scenes as portrayed by Alec Guinness in Star Wars: A New Hope.

  • Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi: a Jedi Master who survived Order 66 and now lives in exile on the planet Tatooine, watching over young Luke Skywalker.
  • Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker: Father of Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan’s former Jedi Padawan and friend who fell to the dark side of the Force. Best known as Sith Lord Darth Vader.
  • Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars: a moisture farmer on Tatooine and the uncle of Luke Skywalker.
  • Bonnie Piesse as Beru Whitesun Lars: Owen’s wife and the aunt of Luke Skywalker.
  • Rupert Friend as The Grand Inquisitor: the highest-ranking Inquisitor of the Galactic Empire. The character was previously voiced by Jason Isaacs in the first two seasons of the animated series Star Wars Rebels, who had previously expressed interest in reprising the role in live-action on multiple occasions prior to Friend’s casting.
  • Moses Ingram as Reva / The Third Sister: an Inquisitor.
  • Sung Kang as The Fifth Brother: an Inquisitor. The character was previously voiced by Philip Anthony-Rodriguez in the second season of Star Wars Rebels.
  • Indira Varma as an Imperial officer
