Michelle Malkin is an American conservative political pundit, author, blogger, and columnist. She was a Fox News contributor until joining Newsmax TV in May 2020. Malkin is the author of seven books and the founder of the conservative websites Twitchy and Hot Air. Around the year 2019, Malkin began publicly supporting members of the far-right, like Nick Fuentes.
She began her professional career as a writer at the Los Angeles Daily News in 1992. In 1995, she was a journalism fellow at the libertarian think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. She relocated to Seattle, Washington, and began writing columns for The Seattle Times.
She has published a syndicated column for Creators Syndicate since 1999. Her column is published by a variety of sources, including Townhall. Some newspapers that previously ran her columns, such as The Daily Wire and National Review, ceased carrying it about 2019 when she began to advocate for more radical ideas. American Renaissance, a white nationalist journal, began running her column in 2020.
For many years, Malkin was a regular Fox News contributor and guest host on The O’Reilly Factor. She announced her departure from The O’Reilly Factor in 2007, claiming that Fox News had mismanaged a disagreement over insulting allegations made about her by Geraldo Rivera in a Boston Globe interview.
When Conservative Review’s web television network, CRTV, began in 2016, Malkin joined to anchor the documentary-style show Michelle Malkin Investigates. When CRTV joined with TheBlaze in December 2018, Malkin left under mysterious circumstances. In May 2020, she joined competitor Newsmax TV and began hosting the show Sovereign Nation.
