Michael worked as a political reporter at WFOR in Miami before joining NewsChannel 5 in March 2011. He covered both the 2008 and 2010 presidential elections for the station, doing one-on-one interviews with Barack Obama, John McCain, and Charlie Crist, among others.

He also created two half-hour shows, “Dreams of the Galapagos” and “Dreams of the American West,” to encourage people to become more involved in the preservation of our natural heritage.

Michael worked as a national correspondent for NBC NewsChannel in Washington from 2002 to 2004, covering the build-up to the Iraq war as well as the Columbia space shuttle disaster. His beat also encompassed the White House and Capitol Hill.

Michael worked for WTVJ (NBC) and WSVN (NBC) from 1984 to 2006, covering nearly every big story in the Miami area (the Fox affiliate).
