Meaghan Thomas is an American journalist and entertainment TV host who currently works at WKRN News 2, in Nashville, Tennessee, as Morning Meteorologist. Prior to joining WKRN News 2, Thomas used to work as a meteorologist at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, Alabama from July 2017 to July 2020.

As an undergraduate Meaghan became a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. She also became a certified storm spotter. Meaghan experienced, firsthand, the devastating tornado outbreak on April 27, 2011.

Meaghan filled in as a weekend meteorologist for Ashley Brand. She worked as an intern at ABC 33/40 a few years ago. She also received certification as a storm spotter. Meaghan’s personal time is spent enjoying family, good food, travel, exercise, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In May of 2014, Meaghan Thomas joined ABC 33/40’s weather crew. This event fueled her desire to study more about atmospheric science. Meaghan worked as a meteorologist at WCBI, a CBS station in Columbus, MS, while she was in graduate school. She assisted in covering the tornado outbreak in Mississippi on April 28, 2014.

Meaghan was awarded the renowned Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval in 2016. As a result, she is not just a Meteorologist who can convey the weather, but also a Meteorologist who understands the science behind it.
