Marcellus Wiley is a well known former American football defensive end known for playing 10 seasons for four NFL teams. He was selected with the 52nd pick of the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft out of Columbia University by the Buffalo Bills.
Wiley acted as a replacement co-host for Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN’s NFL Live. In addition, he co-hosted SportsNation. From 2010 to 2012, Wiley co-hosted Winners Bracket with Michelle Beadle. Later, on ESPN LA, he co-hosted “Afternoons on ESPNLA with Marcellus Wiley and Travis Rogers.” In January 2013, he was named full-time co-host of SportsNation, succeeding Colin Cowherd.
On July 13, 2018, Wiley departed ESPN to co-host Speak for Yourself with Jason Whitlock on FS1. When Whitlock’s contract with Fox Sports expired in June 2020, Emmanuel Acho replaced Whitlock and joined Wiley as the new co-host. Wiley resigned Speak For Yourself as presenter in July 2022 to take on a new post at FS1. Wiley’s book, Never Shut Up: The Life, Opinions, and Unexpected Adventures of an NFL Outsider, was published in 2018.
Wiley started his professional career primarily as a situational pass rusher, recording nine sacks through his first three years. In 2000, when Hall-of-Famer Bruce Smith left for the Washington Redskins, Wiley replaced him at defensive end for the Bills.He was voted to the Pro Bowl once in his ten-year career.
