Kiron Skinner is an American contributor for Fox News Channel. She previously worked for the Trump administration as the Director of Policy Planning at the United States Department of State. She also worked at Carnegie Mellon University as the Taube Professor of International Relations and Politics.
Skinner joined Fox News in October 2019 as a contributor. She gives commentary on national and international matters on both FOX News Media platforms and Fox Business Network. She has also written for National Review Online, Forbes.com, Foreign Policy.com, The Wall Street Journal, and CNN.com as a contributor of opinion essays.
Skinner served at the George W. Bush presidential re-election campaign in 2004 as a foreign policy surrogate. She was then appointed to the advisory board of the George W. Bush Oral History Project in 2010. During former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich’s presidential primary campaign, Kiron served as senior foreign policy adviser from 2011 to 2012.
In 2016, she was part of the transition team for national security for President-elect Donald Trump. She was then sworn in as the new Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. State Department on September 4, 2018.
