Kareen Wynter is an American journalist, anchor, and reporter who currently works KTLA-TV as a general assignment reporter. She joined the station in July 2013. Prior to working at KTLA, she covered a large variety of stories at various stations including CNN.
Kareen came to KTLA from CNN, where she worked as an entertainment journalist. She spent seven years in Los Angeles, where she covered a number of issues, including Whitney Houston’s death, the Conrad Murray involuntary manslaughter trial, and the 2007 Hollywood writers strike.
Kareen was also a regular commentator on HLN’s “Nancy Grace,” “Dr. Drew,” and “Showbiz Tonight,” she co-hosted the Academy Award red carpet pre-shows for CNN/HLN. Kareen worked for numerous news stations in the Midwest before joining KTLA and CNN, including WEWS-TV in Cleveland, WTVG-TV in Toledo, Ohio, and KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota.
Kareen also worked as a CNN Newsource correspondent in Washington, D.C. for several years before joining CNN in Los Angeles. For more than 800 of the network’s station affiliates, she offered breaking news reports and bespoke live shots.
