Julie Bragg WTVR Wikipedia
When I first entered the WTVR television studios, I was just 15 years old. I had the good fortune to be selected to represent Channel 6 as an ambassador for For Kids’ Sake.
I made my “what I wanted to be when I grew up” decision while watching a Saturday morning children’s television program that we had. Following my graduation from J. R. Tucker High School in Henrico County, I enrolled at James Madison University to study mass communication.
As an anchor, reporter, and host of a local discussion show, I accepted my first position in television news at a small community television station in Martinsville, Virginia.
After that, I relocated to Roanoke, where I spent almost five years working for the NBC station WSLS 10. There, I worked as a health reporter, producer, and anchor.
I spent roughly ten years covering the news in Central Virginia after moving back to Richmond, both as an anchor and a reporter on the ground. While working at WTVR, I also hosted “Virginia This Morning” and anchored the morning news, which I now co-anchor with Rob Desir at 5 and 5:30. There isn’t a job out there that I’d prefer, I can honestly say.
