James Furyk is an American professional golfer who competes on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. He won the FedEx Cup and was named PGA Tour Player of the Year in 2010. He has only won one major championship, the US Open in 2003. Furyk is known for his unconventional golf swing and holds the record for the lowest score on the PGA Tour, a 58 recorded during the final round of the 2016 Travelers Championship.

He reached a career-high of second in the Official World Golf Ranking in September 2006. Between 1999 and 2016, he spent over 440 weeks in the top ten.

Jim began his professional career in 1992. On the Nike Tour, he won the Nike Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic in 1993. Between 1998 and 2003, he was a member of the PGA Tour and won at least one tournament each year.

This was the second-longest winning streak behind Tiger Woods at the time, and he finished in the top ten of the Official World Golf Ranking. Furyk’s most notable victory occurred on June 15, 2003, when he won his first major tournament by tying the record for the lowest 72-hole score in U.S. Open history.

After missing three months owing to surgery to repair cartilage damage in his wrist, he only participated in fourteen events in 2004, missing six cuts and finishing T6, dropping him out of the top 100 on the money list. He reclaimed his top ten status in 2005, winning a PGA Tour tournament that year and two more the following year. 
He won the Vardon Trophy for the first time in 2006, finishing second on the money list for the first time in his career. He finished in the top ten 13 times, with nine top threes, four second-place finishes, and two wins. After turning 50 years old in May 2020, Jim made his PGA Tour Champions debut on August 2, 2020. In his debut start on the tour, he won The Ally Challenge. 
On September 20, 2020, he won the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links in a playoff over Jerry Kelly in his second start on the PGA Tour Champions. Only Bruce Fleisher and have won their first two tournaments on the PGA Tour.  Furyk won his first senior major competition, the United States Senior Open, at Omaha Country Club in July 2021. Furyk won by three shots over Mike Weir and Retief Goosen.
