Jabari began working in the TV industry when he was 11 years old. Jabari started participating in the church’s Media Ministry when he was 12 years old. The program was shown live on Sunday television. He began his cinematic career in 2004 at the age of 16.
He quickly made his way into television broadcast production and journalism. He started his first set on “Thief” as a PA. He was given the opportunity to “Technical Direct” a live TV broadcast for Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, while still in the ninth grade.
He has been continuously pursuing a career in film and broadcasting for more than six years. He started creating and editing television commercials during his first year as a director.
Out of more than 900 high school students nationwide, Jabari was one of just 5 students chosen to be a national TV news anchor while in the 10th grade. For this occasion, he flew to Los Angeles, California’s Chanel One News. At this point, he decided that this would be his chosen career for the rest of his life. Jabari was lucky that the film business relocated to Shreveport after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.
He chose to produce and direct the short film “Living for Love” when still a young man and after working on the movie “The Thief.” The Louisiana Film Festival accepted this production, and it took home the top prize for “Best in Show.” As a result, he decided to pursue directing and producing as a second, lifelong job. “A Stranger Within,” his subsequent endeavor, was a success in east Texas and Louisiana when it was finished in 2007. All seats in theater 2 of the Regal in Bossier City, Louisiana, where the premiere of this movie took place, were sold out.
However, Jabari’s acting career officially began in 2007 when he landed his first part on a significant network. The television used in the movie was “Queen Sized.” Then, it was all uphill. Jabari has amassed more than a dozen acting credits in significant productions. Taking roles in movies like “Pitch Perfect” from Universal Pictures and TV shows like “Starcross” and “NCIS: New Orleans.”
In 2013, as he pursued his career in acting, film, and other endeavors, he was hired as an entertainment reporter by KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He engaged in this for more than a year, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in the movie business.
He also worked on the short film “Scotch on the Rocks” during this time and was nominated for the Louisiana Film Prize for his performance as “Best Actor.” The New Orleans Film Festival also accepted this film.
Jabari’s career is far from over and is still on the rise. At (WGNO-ABC) New Orleans, Louisiana, he was only the Entertainment reporter for “News with a Twist.” Jabari was the first to see behind the curtain of the popular reality television program Judge Mathis.
