Gema Hassen-Bey is a Spanish Journalist, wheelchair fencer, and flag-bearer for Spain in the 2014 Paralympics. In addition, she has also taken part in wheelchair mountain climbing.

She competed in the 1996 Summer Paralympics, winning bronze in the women’s epee team. She competed in the Summer Paralympics in Sydney in 2000. She competed in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing after serving as the flag bearer in the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens.
González hoped to be the first woman in a wheelchair to summit Kilimanjaro, having previously attempted to summit Spain’s highest peak, Teide, on the island of Tenerife, in 2017.
