Doris Burke is an American sports journalist working for ESPN NBA as an analyst and reporter. She is an announcer for College Basketball on ABC, College Basketball on ESPN, NBA on ABC, and NBA on ESPN. 

Burke began her career as a sports journalist in 1990 as an analyst for women’s games for her college Providence College. She was also an analyst on Big East Women’s games on television and later Big East men’s games.

She joined ESPN in 1991 and has been part of ESPN’s coverage of the WNBA. Burke was also the primary radio and television voice of the New York Liberty. She was named the sideline reporter for ESPN and ABC covering ESPN’s top men’s basketball team alongside Dick Vitale.

Doris became the first female commentator for a New York Knicks game on the radio and on television. For ten years, she was the sideline reporter for the NBA Finals on ABC. Burke was then featured by the NBA 2K11 video game for 2K Sports as the new sideline reporter in 2010. Since then, she has been featured on each edition including the latest NBA 2K21

Burke signed a multi-year contract extension in October 2013 to works as the NBA commentator for ESPN. She served as an analyst for NBA Countdown, an NBA pre-game show on ESPN alongside analysts Jalen Rose and Avery Johnson.

She was named a regular NBA game analyst for ESPN in 2017 becoming the first woman to be designated a full regular-season role at the national level. Since 2020, she calls the NBA Finals and the conference finals on ESPN Radio alongside Mark Kestecher.
