Kern joined the Fox 35 Orlando team as an anchor and reporter in August 2021, and she is thrilled to be back in Florida. She joins Fox 35 after five years at WIVB in Buffalo, New York, where she launched and solo anchored the market’s first 4 p.m. newscast. She also started and hosted the station’s 6:30 p.m. broadcast as a solo anchor.
Kern is no stranger to the Sunshine State. From 2013 until 2016, she worked as an anchor and reporter for WZVN and WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida. She previously worked at WCTI in New Bern, North Carolina, as a reporter and fill-in anchor. She was in charge of Eastern Carolina, from Greenville to the Crystal Coast, as well as two Marine Corps stations nearby.
She began her career at WBKB in Alpena, Michigan, barely two weeks after graduating from college. She worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer there. She also hosted Insights Into Northeast Michigan, a weekly chat show, and on weekends, she anchored the weather predictions!
