Jansing began working for NBC News in June 1998, and she began using the surname Jansing professionally instead of her maiden name, Kapostasy, which she had used previously. She has since worked for MSNBC as an anchor and reporter, as well as a replacement anchor for The Today Show and the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News.
Chris then moved to Los Angeles in 2008 and worked as a field reporter for two years before returning to her previous position as an anchor in 2010. Chris Jansing previously hosted Jansing and Company on MSNBC weekdays at 10 a.m., with Richard Lui serving as a correspondent and replacement anchor on a regular basis.
