Since September 1984, Cheryl has served as an anchor and reporter for the CBS 6 News staff. Cheryl received the Virginia Association of Broadcasters (VAB) Distinguished Broadcaster Award in June 2016 after being honored with the Virginia Communications Hall of Fame induction in April 2015.

Cheryl was a founding co-host of “Virginia This Morning” until September 2019, when she joined the anchor team of the new CBS 6 News at Four. She is currently anchoring the long-running #1 CBS 6 News at Noon. Cheryl has served as the primary anchor for every daily broadcast at WTVR during her time there, including the morning, noon, 4:00, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 7:05, and 11:05 p.m.

As host of Central Virginia’s longest-running high school academic quiz program, “Battle of the Brains,” which airs on Saturdays at 10 a.m. on CBS 6 and 11 a.m. on WTKR-News 3 Norfolk, Cheryl has loved testing local kids since 2003.

Cheryl has worked in the broadcast industry for more than 40 years, and she has previously taught adjunct courses at Reynolds Community College in Richmond about television and radio.
