Caleb Chevalier has spent most of his professional life in the Midwest. He was born and reared in Indiana and is a proud Hoosier. Caleb’s fascination with weather began at a young age. Caleb went to Western Kentucky University to pursue his passion of becoming a TV meteorologist.
He earned a B.S. in Meteorology with a minor in Broadcasting in 2015. He got his first work in the business as a weekend forecaster for WNKY in Bowling Green, KY, while still a senior at WKU. On weekdays, he worked as a reporter and photographer for the channel.
Caleb returned to Indiana in 2017 by joining WPTA in Fort Wayne as a weekend morning meteorologist. His duties included reporting on a variety of stories once again. Caleb’s predicting and editing skills helped the weather team earn the Associated Press’ Outstanding Weather Operation award in 2018.
Caleb worked part-time as a meteorologist and production assistant at WEVV in Evansville, IN, in between his positions in Fort Wayne and Waco. Throughout his career, Caleb has covered various extreme weather occurrences, including large tornadoes. He is looking forward to bringing his knowledge to Central Texas.
On Saturday and Sunday evenings, you can see Caleb delivering forecasts on KXXV and KRHD. He is a night owl by nature and is relieved to have a schedule that does not include early hours. Outside of meteorology, Caleb’s other great passion is music.
