Holland is a reporter for KLTV/KTRE and anchors East Texas News at 5 and KLTV 7 News at 6. Blake attended Carthage High School and grew up in Panola County.

His interest in news began when he used to produce his own newscasts in his bedroom radio/TV studio. He began working part-time for KGAS Radio in Carthage when he was 14 years old. Since he was in elementary school, he had been doing on-air work at the station.

Blake began anchoring the station’s 5 p.m. newscast in high school and also served as the news director. His reportage was broadcast on the Texas State Network throughout the state, not just in East Texas.

Blake went to the University of North Texas in Denton after high school. He was the Assistant News Director of the award-winning college television station while at UNT. Blake most recently worked for NewsRadio 1080 KRLD and the Texas State Network in Dallas as an anchor and reporter.

Blake was named “Best Reporter” and “Best Radio Personality” in Panola County by readers of The Panola Watchman Newspaper in 2015 and 2016. In the fall of 2016, he received two Lone Star EMMY Student Production Awards for his work at North Texas Television. For his work at KLTV and KTRE, Blake was honored ‘Best Anchor’ by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters in 2019.

Thursday marks the 75th Annual National Day of Prayer. Among the observances in East Texas, Tyler Mayor Don Warren hosted the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. Community members gathered Thursday morning for prayer, worship, and fellowship at the Green Acres Crosswalk Center. KLTV’s Blake Holland was there. The National Day of Prayer was created back in 1952 by a joint resolution of Congress, and it invited people of all faiths to pray for the nation.
After a two-year hiatus because of COVID, the Piney Woods Quilt Festival is back in Carthage this weekend. The event will take place at the Carthage Civic Center on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23. The festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $5 for those 12 and older. Charlene McMillen is this year’s featured quilter. She’s been making quilts for about 30 years and said each quilt has a story.
