Loftus made her major television debut in an episode of Peak Practice in 2000. Loftus has since acted in a number of television shows, including Casualty, Doctors, The Bill, and the ITV comedy drama The Fattest Man in Britain, in which he co-starred with Timothy Spall and Bobby Ball.

Loftus was dubbed a “star of tomorrow” by Screen International magazine in 2008. She also acted in Daniel Elliott’s short film Jade, which was awarded a Silver Bear at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival.
